The Bigger Story

Bev has kept memories and letters about her travels since she was a teenager but more recently she became part of the International Teaching community and lived all over the world. She put her memories and travel fun into more formal records - journals. Those were used to create her travel blogs. This is the third travel blogging site Bev has had - times change, internet access changes and she is hoping this page will be her final home. Transferring past blogs will take some time and continuing with new blogs will keep it current. She's got itchy feet and will be taking another trip sometime soon. Global access will come back soon and she'll be a travel blogger once again.

The travels shared here stretch across time but she has returned to some places several times. Bev has travelled with friends or family, but often alone. She has trekked the Atlas Mountains, sailed the Mediterranean, endured the Trans-Siberian railway, wandered a prehistoric Labyrinth in Budapest and taken a camel tour into the Sahara Desert. Some trips were organized by others but more often than not, she picked a destination and went for it.

Bev's spirit of adventure and fear of little has taken her to 62 countries. What draws her to these destinations is the desire to observe the vast beauty of the world and to truly experience other cultures, other ways of life and fabulous food. People and how they live in their world keeps Bev looking for more. Her blog will show some of the places she has been, described and enhanced by her own photographs.

Writing stories was a natural outcome of her travels. Bev's imagination comes alive as she observes the world around her. People-watching from little cafes on hidden streets has her making stories of everything she sees - making up stories about the people walking by. For instance, sitting at a Café in Barcelona, Spain might lead her to pose 'What if...' questions as she watches the people along 'Las Ramblas Avenue.'

What if that street mime was also a pick pocket.

...he moves nearer to that couple and takes something from the man’s pocket.

...and what if the wallet he steals contains important secrets?

...what would happen next?'

Such musings might lead to a new character in her story or the skeleton of a whole new story. Keep checking here to read her blogs as they are uploaded and her first book when it is ready to go. Bev is starting on a sequel to the first book already.

Come travel with her to places around the world...
