Travelling Delights
I have been writing blogs for years but they are recently being transferred to this website. The dates may look recent but the travel times do not match the post dates. My apologies for this but I was having trouble with my last site.
My blog will start with Morocco - one of my favourite places. Anyone can visit it and enjoy it. I traveled on my own (a single female) and did a road trip with friends as well as taking a few organized tours. My parents visited and they were
in their late seventies. You can see Dad here, getting to know a local farmer in the Oasis. The way
they farm with limited water is astounding and my Dad was intrigued! We took the train to Fez - and
lost our camcorder. We rented a Land Rover and driver to go over the Atlas mountains from Marrakesh
to the desert for some of the most amazing views ever. We did a camel trek into the desert and my
parents were on the camels too. So... if you think you couldn't do it...think again. There is something
for everyone. There are expensive hotels and Riads but there are also lovely and unique options that
are definitely affordable. Morocco is amazing that way.
I have traveled by train, bus, taxi, motorcycle, Land Rover, camel and donkey. And every moment
was unforgettable - and extremely enjoyable.
So... follow along and see where we go.
EXTRA NOTE: I will not always give hotel names or tour agents but you can always contact me or search the locations I mention for travel options out of there that will suit you. I often use:
Lonely Planet and Footprint Travel Guides
Expedia travel bookings
Agoda travel bookings (especially in Asia)
Trivago works for some areas too.
Specific airlines for their best rates - and if you get points. I love Lufthansa and British Airways
